The village

Located only 15 minutes from Martigny in the Valais, Les Marécottes is also a short 50 minutes from Chamonix, France along the spectacular Mont Blanc Express cogwheel railway.

Les Marécottes in the summer:

Whether you’re looking for a gentle stroll along tree-lined trails, one-day hikes throughout the nearby alpine valleys or more challenging multi-day treks, Les Marécottes provides ample opportunities for all abilities and interests.  The Dailley Gorge with its recently reconstructed trestles and bridges is easily accessible and a highlight for all ages as are other cultural sites, nature trail and the Marconi Museum which colourfully displays the discovery of wireless communication.  Les Marécottes’ Alpine Zoo with natural, granite-carved swimming pool continues to draw locals and international visitors alike.

More physical pursuits include tennis courts, well marked mountain bike trails and over 150 easily accessible climbing routes equipped and maintained by local guides. Above all, Les Marécottes is probably best known for No Limits Canyon, a highly reputed owner operator outfit that provides ‘hand-held’, wet and wild, adrenaline charged descents through one of the three local canyons – an unforgettable experience for kids young and old.

Les Marécottes in the winter:

The lay-out of Les Marécottes ski pistes provides a safe and worry-free ski holiday for parents and their budding ski champions. Located off the beaten path at 1720-2200m between Chamonix, Verbier and Les Portes du Soleil, Les Marécottes enjoys consistent snowfalls and is a haven for off-piste enthusiasts. As the preferred resort for professional skiers Nicolas and Loris Falquet, photographers and film-makers as well as mountain guides who bring clients seeking easily accessible powder, Les Marécottes is quickly developing a reputation among powder connoisseurs.

The piste-side restaurant and buvette both provide extraordinary views of the Mont Blanc, Rhone Valley and the Swiss Alps. To complement your week with a ‘big mountain experience’, local guides escort you over the Col de Golette for a full-day powder outing while Chamonix is less than an hour away by train. A 7km luge run, snowshoe trails, indoor pool, natural ice rink, and Alpin Zoo are particularly appreciated by fair weather skiers.

Combined, Les Marécottes’ unhurried place, uncrowded terraces and the absence of lift queues makes for an idyllic mountain holiday that is finding growing appeal among both local and international guests.
